It still kinda hurts me a little bit to be called a fandom - like we’re like any other fandom out there that are just full of people who come together to like a show.
We are cadets. We live according to the virtues of The Aquabats. We fight evil and stand up for the nerds and the kids. We’re a huge family where The Bats are our crazy uncles that dress up in costumes and play concerts for us in the backyard. We physically change the way we live because we believe so fervently in what The Aquabats stand for and so desperately want to help them any way we can in their mission to bring smiles to the world.
So, I still have a bit of a hard time just being “oh, look at that crazy aquabats fandom; it’s like the homestuck fandom but not as big.”
I know every fandom says they’re different from the rest; being a cadet instead of being a fan is the way that we make that statement true for us.
Also, if you wanna follow good cadets, uh follow any of them they’re all good.
If you’re wondering who the older fans, nothing agains newer fans, people like BumblingB have ben nothing but cool, this is to highlight the older fans I guess, IDK. OLDER FANS who I know of that actively post aquabats stuff I’d say??? I dunno these are cool people shush.
- KookyBat , she has the lowest cadet number out of people I talk to. She makes me look like a scrub.
-Awesomelad - Definitely knows more trivia and has way more merch than I hope to have. He’ll post stuff that’s good for cosplaying and cool old merch things that will make you sad you didn’t buy a lot of things (LIKE MEEEE)
-Ninjkabat - My greatest frenemy. Ninjkabat is ultra-goodguy cadet to my uppity bitch cadetness. We often converse about things cadet and not cadet and when someone is being a clownbag, he’ll be there to punch them in the face. He is a ninja, no one has seen his face.
-Adri - I’d say she’s cool beans and posts a lot of stuff, plus enough people have thanked her for getting them into the bats that that hella deserves a spot. So much I used hella.
SO YEAH.
THERE YOU GO. Three of those people starting liking the bats after I did, one way before, a lot of people I know liked them at the same time but idk how active they are. @~@

I’m pretty sure all of my followers are Aquabats people, but just in case there are a few who aren’t aware, here’s a good list. Also, you can visit the forums to talk with fans who don’t use tumblr. Also, you can browse around The Aquabats Wiki to see some things from way a long time ago and also things from way a now time ago.
If there are any followers who aren’t Aquabatty, you should learn about this.
(although technically I’ve liked the bats for 10 years. Just been involved as a cadet for 8)

With new episodes comes new plots, new characters, new songs, all of which need pages on the Aquabats wiki (and info to populate those pages).
So, how about I work on making the pages, and everyone works on writing things to make it funny? Sounds good? Sounds good. You all like writing things anyway; just write the plots in a funny and Aquabatty way!

I haven’t really seen anyone doing it, but that’s because I’ve been on vacation with shoddy internet. Remember: the MCBC asked you not to.
I cannot read that text, that is for ninjka to do. But the entry from what i saw roughly talked about her not being heavily involved with season 2 and stuff but dang this drawing.

This is truly the hardest challenge for people living out of the country: keeping up to date before they’re available on iTunes or Hulu (which can be accessed with a proxifyer for semi-legal viewing.)
While in Japan, I was able to force iTunes to sell it to me, but I realize not everyone can do that.
So, my recommendation is to find a friend in the US, have them skype call you, and watch it while the camera is pointed at the TV. That way is great, because then you can talk and react to the show in real time with other Aquabats fans.
Some proponents of pirating the show in this situation might say “But Ninjka, you’re so anti pirating; doesn’t this amount to streaming the show like we’ve been doing?” The answer is no. And the key difference is that a skype call can only be done from one computer to another, which keeps it private. It’s akin to inviting a friend over to your house to watch the show on your TV: true, two TV’s tuned in would equal more ad revenue, but at least it’s one legal source being shared. When you stream the show on a service like livestream or ustream, it is public and there is no limit on the number of people who can tune in and watch the show without commercials, thereby not making The Bats any money. It makes it so that US viewers, who should have no problem accessing the show legally, won’t pay for it due to laziness and ease. But if it’s a private two way connection, that problem of “18 people who would’ve generated revenue are now not” becomes “one other person who wouldn’t have generated revenue despite their best efforts gets to join in on the fun.”
tl;dr : skyping the show live to someone is private. Streaming it publicly is bad. Skyping is a compromise between “guys, you need to pay for the show if you want more seasons” and “I want to pay for it, but I literally have nowhere to swipe my credit card due to geographical reasons.”
